Terms of Use
Last updated July 2026.
These terms govern your use of this website, operated by Trent Murray trading as Heron Operations Consulting (ABN [insert ABN]) ("Heron", "we", "us"). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. What this site is
This site describes Heron's operations consulting services and publishes general information about business operations. It is a marketing and information site. Using the site does not create a client relationship, and nothing on it constitutes an offer to provide services. Consulting services are only provided under a separate written engagement — a Letter of Engagement, Statement of Work or subscription agreement — and are governed by Heron's Master Terms of Engagement, provided at proposal stage.
2. Information is general, not advice
Everything published on this site is general in nature. It does not take into account your business's particular circumstances, obligations, financial position or regulatory environment. Nothing on this site is professional, legal, financial, accounting or compliance advice. Before acting on anything you read here, consider whether it is appropriate for your situation and seek advice from a qualified professional where relevant.
We take reasonable care to keep the site accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is complete, accurate or up to date, and we may change or remove content at any time without notice.
3. The Mini-Assessment
The site offers a free self-assessment tool that produces an Operating Snapshot based on the answers you provide. You should understand that results are generated automatically from your own self-reported answers, and their usefulness depends entirely on how accurately those answers reflect your business. The output is an indicative snapshot for your own reflection — it is not a diagnosis, an audit, a professional assessment, or a recommendation to take any particular action. Completing it does not create a client relationship or any obligation on either side, and we are not liable for any decision made or action taken on the basis of the results.
4. Privacy
The Mini-Assessment does not require your name, email address or phone number. Responses are collected anonymously and used to improve the tool and understand common operational pressures. If you contact us through the site, we collect the details you provide in order to respond to you. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Intellectual property
All content on this site — text, structure, diagrams, frameworks, graphics, logos and the Heron name and mark — is owned by Heron or used under licence, and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may read, print and share the site's content for your own internal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, republish, adapt, distribute or commercially exploit any part of it without our written permission.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the site for any unlawful purpose, attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems, interfere with the site's operation, security or availability, use automated systems to scrape or copy content, or submit false, misleading or malicious information through any form on the site.
7. Links to other sites
The site may link to third-party websites. Those links are provided for convenience only. We do not control, endorse or take responsibility for the content, products, services or privacy practices of any third-party site.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the site available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The site may be unavailable at times for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control, and we may modify or discontinue any part of it without notice.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Heron is not liable for any loss or damage — including indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, data or business opportunity — arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site or its content.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability can be limited but not excluded, our liability is limited to re-supplying the relevant information or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, and the date above will change when we do. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Both parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
